acne problem
Acne is the world’s most common skin disease. Over 86% of the population will have or have had some kind of acne problem in their lives. Acne doesn’t care what your skin color is or who you are. Its more likely to affect you as you reach puberty this is when your skin will start to change enough to kick start the acne process.
You know you have it when your skin develops blackheads,whiteheads,or reddish yellow spots and your skin becomes greasy.These are the classic signs of an acne breakout. Most people think that they will grow out of it, but that’s not always the case. 17% of women in their 40s still get acne problems but in men that number is much much lower (sorry ladies).
The most common place to get acne is of course on the face. But it can also crop up on your neck,shoulders,back and chest. The reason why the face is so common for the main out breaks is because the oil producing glands (the sebaceous glands) are more concentrated in this area. This area is sometimes referred to as the “T” zone.
Acne can have a profound affect on peoples lives not just physically but also emotionally. Its only relatively recently that Doctors have started to look at the way acne affects people mentally.There are many ways in which these affects can cause problems. Here are a few of the most common emotional problems.
* Anger and aggression
* Reduced self-confidence
* Frustration
* Social withdrawal
* Lowered self-esteem
* Embarrassment
These affects are not felt on there own of course. One can often lead to another and so on,leading to a downward spiral and on to despair. If you feel that this describes you then it would be best to speak to youracne doctor for advice.
